Traffic Lights

Sure they are great. Keep traffic flowing in busy cites and stop pedestrians from being run over by murdering bus and truck drivers. However, I am completely fed up with sitting at red lights when there are no other cars going the other way?? What the hell is the point in that?? Adding to the amount of time in my life I waste in a car. They recon about 4 years, I say more!!
Also I would like someone to tell me why at the traffic lights where I live why I have to cross at 3 different sets of lights to cross one road!!?? Takes at least 5 minutes to cross one road!! Someone is clearly taking the piss out of the pedestrian because they can't afford a car.
